Albany Leadership graduates young women that are prepared to enter the college of their choice. Accordingly, ALH’s college admissions process is in depth and individualized. ALH counselors begin their work with students immediately upon entry into the school and continue through the college application process and on to graduation. Counselors not only collaborate with faculty to provide intervention and student support services, but also with each student’s family to ensure that all stakeholders are partnered in meeting the needs of the whole student. This allows counselors to cultivate relationships and strategically support students during their high school careers, culminating in students applying to, choosing, and attending the college or university that best fits them.
In addition to the support provided by ALH school counselors, ALH students also benefit from on-staff school social workers. ALH social workers build relationships with students, teachers, families and the community to support the academic, social and emotional growth of every student.
