Q:  What are the advantages of single-gender education?

A.:  Research has shown that single-gender education students are more likely to succeed in school. Girls show more interests in the sciences and math fields, and are more likely to continue their education beyond high school as compared to students in coeducational settings.

Q:  What are our school hours?

A:  School hours are 7:30am to 4:27pm.

Q:  Do students wear uniforms?

A:  Yes.  All students are required to wear uniforms. Uniforms are different for our freshmen, sophomore, and junior classmen. Uniform pricing/ordering and distribution can be handled once students are fully enrolled.

Q:  How will my daughter be transported to and from school?

A:  All prospective students are required to apply for transportation by the April 1st deadline for all districts.

All Albany area students who live 1.5 miles from ALH will be provided a CDTA Swiper from the Albany City Transportation Department.

Students who reside outside of the Albany area are required to apply to their district area transportation department upon admission to ALH following the April 1st deadline.

Our Leadership Coordinator will help all applying students with completing transportation applications.

Q:  Does ALH offer sports?

A:  Yes.  ALH’s athletic department will offer the following for the 2011-2012 school year:
